For those of you that are reading this blog, thank you. As this is my first try at blogging so it should be interesting to say the least!
Day 1 of the Dukan Diet
This past weekend was very busy for me in getting prepped for starting this new diet called the Dukan Diet (www.dukandiet.com), the what you say?! I know it definitely has a weird name and I probably never would have heard about it if I had not watched sooo much coverage (too much as my husband says) of the Royal Wedding back in April!
Apparently, this Dukan Diet is quite popular in Europe and is a mainly protein based diet that reduces the amount of carbs that you have daily but does not completely cut them out except for at the beginning..... this will be a major test for me at the beginning :-( So yes, no carbs means no wine until the very last phase of the diet, UGH!
However, Day 1 is going well so far and not feeling hungry or having any cravings.. I got up early worked out on the Elliptical Machine for 30 minutes and hope to go biking (we got new bikes this weekend) for at least 30 minutes after work (if it doesn't rain)! Tonight for dinner it's Grilled Chicken with Tarragon and Lemon, I know that sounds real filling doesn't it?! The one thing that I will be eating a lot of it seems is yogurt! Who knows, maybe I'll beat Michael Westin out in who can eat most yogurt?! LOL...
But seriously, hopefully with keeping this blog up it will help give me that motivation to work even harder at the diet and getting into an even healthier lifestyle! So, please keep your fingers crossed for me :-)
Over the Weekend
So back to the bicycles.... we bought these on Saturday afternoon and thought that besides us getting more exercise, we could also get Bailey out running more with us. Yeah, that grand thought went up in a puff of smoke LOL Bailey is scared to death of the bicycles, so scared that she won't even go out in the garage period! I can only imagine what her little mind must think of those Big, Mean ole' bicycles!! We are hoping that the more she sees them the less scared Bailey will be of them. Any ideas?!
So after, the whole scary bicycle introduction to Bailey we come back in the house for a few minutes. As I am coming out of the bedroom along with trying to keep Bailey from grabbing the dryer sheets (aka crack sheets as we call them), I start to walk into the kitchen to thrown them away, when my husband yells STOP! and has the horrible look on his face. He says don't come in here there is a huge bug on the wall.....so I of course run in the opposite direction as I detest bugs. So I'm asking him what is it, no answer...what is it?! Finally, my hubby yells "I don't know its freaking huge and mutant"...I"m sitting there like ya right...I barely turn the corner and this huge, disgusting, freaky bug is on the wall of my kitchen! I'm yelling at hubby to kill it as I run out the door of the house grabbing Bailey on the way! Finally, about 5 minutes later hubby walks out the front door and says, "I won its dead!" The worst part is we still don't know what kind of bug it was, eeeek!!! But one thing I know for sure, the pest control guy is coming to my house first thing this week!! So that was part of my wild weekend!
Excellent blogging!!! :-) I loved it! Especially the bug part because last week I had 3 similar accounts and one the week before that; I am sure Marek and Murry are more than "over" the whole bug extravaganza! The bug guy came on Friday afternoon to save me (and them), thank goodness!
ReplyDeleteMy thought on the bike issue for your precious girl... When she's on a walk with one of you, the other of you needs to put one (or both... but one may be a bit less intimidating) in the Florida room. When she comes back, don't even mention it. Just move around like it's not even there... turn on the tv, sit down and watch it. Ignore the whole scary bike thing... And maybe when she sees that you are not paying attention to it (or her reaction to it) she will come hang out with you and forget about it.
Just a thought... :-)
Keep on blogging... You are doing great...
PS: ...you just might be my motivation to start back up on my blogging... ;-)
Ugh!! The buy guy cannot get out to the house soon enough lol... if I could have only had a picture of the look on hubby's face, it was priceless!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the thoughts on Bails and the bikes, I will definitely try them out and hopefully they will work :-)
Thank you for the support on the blogging!!! You should definitely start back up, I know that between both of the kids you must have a ton of material, hehe!
I am certainly not lacking in material... just time! ;-)
